What Keystone Represents

Stonemasons build an arch from the outside in. Every stone leans on the next and none of them stand alone. The last stone placed at the very top – the keystone – is the one that locks the entire span together. Remove it and the arch isn't weaker; it's rubble.

One stone holds the span. The keystone doesn't work harder than the others. It just holds everything together.

Every Subject is an Arch

Algebra sits on fractions. Fractions sit on multiplication. Essay writing sits on being able to hold one argument in your head for three paragraphs. When a single stone lower down is missing, everything above it leans and to a parent, a teacher and worst of all to the student, it simply looks like they are bad at the whole subject.

Same student, same effort. Falling marks are usually a structural problem, not an ability problem – which is why more homework on top of a gap only produces more practice at being confused.

How we work: Assess, Rebuild, Strengthen

Every student starts with a free 30-minute assessment. We work backwards through the topic they're struggling with until we hit the exact point where understanding stops. That point is the keystone and it is almost never where the school report says it is.

Assess

We identify the exact skill gaps causing the student to struggle.

Rebuild

We explain and develop those skills clearly, reinforcing them until they are understood.

Strengthen

We apply those skills to current schoolwork so the student can move forward confidently.

This shows that progress may decrease slightly at the beginning while learning gaps are identified and corrected. After this rebuilding phase, progress increases steadily and exceeds the results of practice alone.
